My 5 yr old daughter just received her 200m badge from MXT. She has only had 3 x 5 day intensive lessons over the last 6 months and has progressed much faster than her peers who opted for regular weekly lessons from other schools. The only preparation she had before starting was a general confidence in water, and weekly swimming (play) with me in between the intensive courses. MXT have focused on the crawl but have also introduced backstroke and butterfly strokes recently which my daughter has picked up very quickly. My two nieces (both USA national standard swimmers and coaches) attended her last course in august to compare teaching approaches and were very impressed with the way MXT engage with students (constant positive feedback), the low student to teacher ratios, and the attention to detail shown by instructors re technique. They commented that progress was much faster and that this represented better value for money than the cheaper large group / weekly lesson alternative popular in the USA. My only observations to add to the above is the importance of regular swimming in between sessions especially as they start to improve to re-enforce the step change improvements made during intensive sessions, and the overall increase in self confidence as they improve. I would recommend MXT intensive lessons without hesitation.
