History of MXT
Teaching Sussex to swim since 1990, MXT Swimming School (‘MXT’) are a premier swimming school in the South of England and produce confident and capable swimmers. MXT customers receive the highest standard of teaching to enable themselves to gain the skills required to enjoy all water-based activities. For professional swimmers, stroke technique can be improved to the highest level. MXT offer one-to-one swimming lessons and private coaching, as well as intensive week-long group classes in school holidays.
MXT teach swimming to children and adults from 3 years and beyond. We are a Swim England Swim School Member and a Safety Training Awards' Approved Training Centre.
Our mission statement is to provide aspiring swimmers with the highest quality swimming lessons in a friendly, constructive environment using our unique teaching systems.
What Makes MXT Different
MXT Swimming School is an independent, family-run swim school, with a passion for swimming tuition above all else.
While the vast majority of swimming lessons are delivered in a group class fashion, MXT has developed a unique one-to-one (private) teaching programme, where the swimming teacher is in the water with the learner. It is overall better suited to individual needs, including disabilities.
Mario has been developing his one-to-one programme since 1990, refining successful teaching philosophies and more effective practises for one-to-one teaching.
The current nationally recognised swimming teaching qualifications are focussed almost entirely on teaching groups of swimmers, as historically, the vast majority of swim schools and award systems are based on group swimming lessons. This means that all new swimming teachers at MXT have to go through extensive re-training, enabling them to fully understand MXT’s one-to-one teaching method. All teachers are then continuously trained with MXT’s own ongoing training programme.
Many other swim schools are moving to the one-to-one teaching method, but don't yet have the experience or understand the difference in fundamentals. This is one of the main reasons that MXT’s customers find MXT’s teaching is so effective versus what they have previously experienced at leisure centres and other swim schools.
